Welcome to Unbank!
Whether you just made your first Bitcoin purchase at one of our kiosks or you're planning to withdraw to your own wallet, you're probably wondering:
“Which Wallet Should I Use?”
The short answer is: there’s no one-size-fits-all. Your wallet should reflect how you use Bitcoin—whether you want fast payments, total self-custody, or something in between.
To help you get started, here’s a breakdown of 10 wallets that work well with Unbank—across mobile, Lightning, and on-chain use cases. All of them support QR scanning, Lightning invoices, or Bitcoin addresses, so they’ll work just fine with Unbank’s buying and selling tools.
Wallets That Work Great with Unbank
1. Phoenix – "Powerful but seamless"
Phoenix is one of the easiest self-custody wallets out there. It runs a full Lightning node on your phone, but you don’t need to worry about channels or liquidity—it handles all that for you. If you're looking for a non-custodial wallet that “just works,” this is a top pick.
2. Zeus – "For the power user"
Zeus connects directly to your own Lightning node (like LND or Core Lightning). If you’re running a node at home or in the cloud, Zeus gives you mobile access to manage channels, scan invoices, and send or receive Bitcoin instantly.
3. Breez – "Everyday Lightning payments, done right"
Breez is a Lightning-only wallet that feels like a cash app. It has built-in podcast streaming (you can tip in sats), a point-of-sale feature, and an easy onboarding process thanks to its integrated LSP. You hold your keys, but don’t have to worry about liquidity.
4. Blink – "Perfect for beginners"
Formerly known as Bitcoin Beach Wallet, Blink is a simple custodial wallet that’s great for people new to Bitcoin. It offers Lightning payments, QR scanning, and even a Stablesats feature (a USD-pegged balance backed by derivatives) to help protect against Bitcoin price swings.
5. Flash – "Fast, fun, and frictionless"
Flash is a custodial Lightning wallet with ultra-low fees and clean design. It supports QR codes, NFC tap-to-pay, and even has a web-based “cash register” for small businesses. It’s great for grabbing a coffee or sending sats to a friend.
6. Strike – "Where fiat meets Bitcoin"
Strike lets you buy, sell, send, and receive Bitcoin over the Lightning Network using your debit card or bank account. It’s especially useful in countries like the U.S. or Argentina where Strike operates as a fiat bridge.
7. BlueWallet – "Simple, clean, and trusted"
BlueWallet supports both Bitcoin and Lightning (via external node connections). It’s beautifully designed and has been around for years. While the in-app Lightning node has been sunsetted, it still works great for on-chain Bitcoin storage or advanced setups.
8. Nunchuk – "Multisig made easy"
Nunchuk is a multisig wallet that’s ideal for users who take Bitcoin security seriously. You can set it up to require multiple signatures for each transaction—perfect for long-term holdings or shared custody setups.
9. Unstoppable – "Privacy-first and self-custodial"
Unstoppable is a fully non-custodial, privacy-focused wallet that supports a variety of digital currencies. It also offers decentralized exchange access, and is designed with sovereignty in mind.
How to Choose Based on Your Needs
If you're brand new and want the easiest possible setup, wallets like Blink and Flash are excellent places to start. They’re intuitive, custodial, and make Lightning payments super easy.
If you're ready to take more control of your funds but still want a smooth experience, Phoenix and Breez offer a great middle ground with self-custody and automatic channel management.
If you're deep into the Bitcoin ecosystem and running your own Lightning node, then Zeus is likely your best option.
For people who want strong security setups like multisig or care deeply about privacy, Nunchuk and Unstoppable are top-tier tools.
And, if you need to move between dollars and Bitcoin easily, Strike offers a solid fiat bridge.

A Few Tips:
Use a Self-Custody Wallet: Unbank does not store your funds, so you’ll need a wallet you control (like Blink, Phoenix, or Unstoppable Wallet).
Save Multiple Wallets: You can swap them out later if needed.
Stay Safe: Never share your private keys. Unbank will never ask for them.
At Unbank, we believe you should hold your own keys. That’s why we’re wallet-agnostic—we work with any wallet that supports Bitcoin or Lightning. Whether you're buying at one of our locations or cashing out to your favorite app, you’re always in control.
Still unsure where to begin? Start with Blink or Phoenix—they offer smooth onboarding and are well-suited for everyday use.
